ABSTRACT

Based on the conservation of resource theory, we proposed a two-path model to examine the double-edged sword effects of career calling on occupational embeddedness via work–family conflict (WFC) and career adaptability. The proposed theoretical model and hypotheses were tested by structural equation modeling technology with a sample of nurses from five hospitals in China (total N = 368). Career calling has a double-edged sword effect on occupational embeddedness via WFC and career adaptability. Career calling has positive effects on WFC and career adaptability. WFC and career adaptability, in turn, negatively and positively influence occupational embeddedness, respectively. In addition to the well-established positive effects, career calling may also have adverse effects on occupational outcomes. Given the worldwide shortage of nursing staff, how career calling affects nurses' occupational embeddedness needs to be more understood. This study highlights the importance of career calling and occupational embeddedness. Nurse managers need to improve the level of nurses' career adaptability and reduce their level of WFC and hence increase their occupational embeddedness.

ABSTRACT

Objective To develop perfluorocarbon lipid particles and investigate their basic properties, and target them to human hepatocellular carcinoma cells in vitro by hepatoma monocolonal antibody HAb18 with avidin-biotin interaction. Methods Rotary evaporation and high pressure homogen were used to prepare perfluorocarbon lipid particles, and the appearance and distribution of them were investigated by microscope and electron microscope, the concentration and the size and electric potential were detected. The biotinylated monoclonal antibody HAbl8 was prepared, then the biotinylated degree of the antibody was determined. The biotinylated perfluoroearbon lipid particles labelled with NBD were prepared and targeted to human hepatocellular carcinoma cells in vitro with avidin-biotin interaction. Results These perfluorocarbon lipid nanoparticles were uniform and stable, and the mean diameter of them was 171.9 nm.Hepatocellular carcinoma cells were surrounded by the biotinylated particles labelled with NBD.Conclusions A steady perfluoroearbon lipid particles were prepared and the biotinylated particles can be targeted to hepatocellular carcinoma cells with avidin-biotin interaction.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the value of ultrasonic diagnosis of congenital prepyloric diaphragm. Methods Twelve cases were collected for the analysis of the characteristics of ultrasonography in diagnosis of congenital prepyloric diaphragm. Results Of the 12 cases of congenital prepyloric diaphragm, valvula in pyloric antrum could be observed in 5 cases, inclusive of 2 cases of complicating pachyntic stenosis of pyloric muscular layer. Other valvula in pyloric canal could not be found with ultrasonography. No pyloric muscular layer pachynsis was observed, but signs of pyloric obstruction such as gastric retention, slow or difficult transfer of gastric contents, gastro-esophageal reflux were found. Prepyloric diaphragm was confirmed surgically in all cases. Conclusion Ultrasonic diagnosis of congenital prepyloric diaphragm is of practical value in clinical practice and can provide reliable imaging data for the option of preoperative approaches.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the effects of poly lacticoglycolic acid(PLGA) ultrasound contrast agent on tumor lymph node imaging and its mechanism. Methods PLGA ultrasound contrast agent was made by double emulsion method; VX2 tumor cells were harvested from carrier rabbits and inoculated in the thigh of healthy New Zealand White rabbits. Implants were allowed to grow for 14 to 18 days before imaging. Popliteal lymph nodes were imaged as the injection sites were massaged. And macrophages were used to investigate the mechanism for lymph node enhancement. Results PLGA ultrasound contrast agent had a tight size distribution. Tumor lymph node was significantly enhanced by PLGA ultrasound contrast agent. Macrophages experiment showed that macrophages could phagocyte lots of PLGA ultrasound contrast agents. Conclusions PLGA ultrasound contrast agent is good for lymph node imaging. The possible mechanism for lymph node enhancement is that macrophages in lymph node can phagocyte lots of PLGA contrast agents, which causes the concentration of PLGA contrast agent in lymph node.
